THANK YOU FROM MILES AHEAD!
On Friday, June 3, we at Miles Ahead will broadcast our last live program over the airwaves.
It has been a great four years of bringing you the best in jazz. We've enjoyed meeting many of you at our
Festival appearances and at our monthly Gale Street Inn dates, and we want to just take a moment to say thank you -
thank you to our listeners, thank you to our advertisers, and thank you to all of our supporters in Chicago's
great jazz community.
But... we're not going away. Throughout the month of June, tune to your regular spot on the dial from
5-7 PM to enjoy Listen Here!, the jazz review program featuring the Miles Ahead team of Mark Ruffin and Neil Tesser.
It's a lively mix of music, CD reviews, discussion, interviews, and just a little bit of fun and games. For more on
Listen Here! or to check out the program on the web, just scroll down a little.
From 2-5 PM, it's the Best of Miles Ahead, featuring some our favorite programs from the past four years.
Keep your web browser pointed here as well, and watch for exciting changes as we expand our content to include
more of the stuff you need: Chicago Jazz.
Finally, we still have our Monday dates at the Gale Street Inn, so be sure to come by on June 20 to catch the rising
young vocalist Marc Courtney Johnson, accompanied by our old friends the Dan Cray Trio. As usual, it's from
7-9 PM, so come by for the food, the company of friends, and the always great music.

LISTEN HERE! HAVE YOU HEARD IT YET?
Neil and Mark's new public radio program, Listen Here!, has recently completed its 21st episode.
In that time we've interviewed everybody from Von Freeman to David Sanborn to Gerald Wilson.
Special attention has been paid to musicians from our fair city, including Nicole Mitchell, Howard Levy,
Jackie Allen, Kurt Elling, Grazyna Aguscik, Johnny Frigo, and more! We've reviewed nearly 100 new CDs,
and Mark and Neil have engaged in many a spirited debate. Have you heard Listen Here?

 OUR NEXT GALE DATE IS JUNE 20
Summer's here and the time is right for… jazz at the Gale Street Inn, of course.
Our next Monday date features vocalist Marc Courtney Johnson, backed by the Dan Cray Trio.
Marc's self titled CD has just been released, and it's one of our favorites.
So come on out and join us for a terrific evening of tasty food, great cocktails, and outstanding live jazz.
The fun starts at 7PM. Free food (courtesy of Gale Street owner George Karzas),
free music, and the company of friends - what could be better? All you have to do is buy a couple of drinks and enjoy!

MAKE PLANS FOR CREPUSCULE
The what?, you may ask. Crepuscule is a festival of the arts that celebrates creativity and community in a
unique way, featuring over a hundred musicians, visual artists, dancers, puppeteers, and actors, all guided
by Artistic Director Douglas Ewert. Come out to Washington Park on Chicago's south side on July 17 for the
6th annual presentation of this wonderful event. It's part of the Jazz Institute of Chicago's JazzCity series,
and, like all JazzCity programs, is family friendly and free.
